I’m really proud to announce that this month marks 30 years of me working as an expert osteopath, and it’s been a privilege to have spent 26 years practising in Bristol.
Working as a registered and experienced osteopath working from my Henleaze clinic for such a long time has enabled me to really change the lives of patients in pain during that time.
As a young man, I was always fascinated by musculoskeletal medicine, as well as being highly competitive in both rugby and athletics.
These passions combined to give me a desire to follow a medically orientated career that would help people as well as fuel my ongoing interest in sports.
I found the holistic approach within osteopathy a really good fit, and studied for an Osteopathy Degree with Honours from 1992-96 at the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in London.
After qualification, I found myself working with professional sportsmen and women, predominantly in rugby.
After two years of treating both general patients and high-level rugby, football and track athletes, I then travelled and worked in a New Zealand clinic for 12 months.
This led to more general injury work, sports-related osteopathy, as well as my introduction to Cranial Osteopathy with babies and toddlers.
I moved to Bristol in 2000, and have maintained an osteopathic clinic in the city ever since.
I currently provide expert osteopathy treatments in Bristol for general practice patients, sports injuries, young and old patients, office workers and babies/toddlers/kids.
Bristol is really well served for complementary therapies, and I am a member of the Bristol Osteopathic Society, where other expert osteopaths in Bristol network and share knowledge.
One of the things that has not changed in the last 30 years is my sense of satisfaction from helping people in pain daily, including the last 26 years in our wonderful city of Bristol.
Being an expert osteopath in Bristol is a real privilege, and getting to help patients out of pain and into a more comfortable active life remains one of my proudest achievements.
I have a position of responsibility and trust, which I aim to nurture with the utmost professional care.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to all my wonderful patients, past and present!
And my osteopathic work continues. If you’re thinking of booking an expert osteopath in Bristol but are unsure what to expect, I recommend that you read this.
